Man Battles Monstrously Enormous Snake to Death

A 37 year old Indonesian man, Robert Nababan, was lucky to have escaped death by the whiskers while fighting a giant reptile, a python.
The 26 ft (7.8m) python was found stretched across the road obstructing traffic, causing pedestrians to flee when Robert, a security guard, was on his way back from work. His brave bid to help the situation by getting the snake off the road left him with severe injuries and almost cost him his life.
The snake bit his arm and tried constricting him by coiling itself around him. They both wrestled fiercely in the middle of the road until other pedestrians overcame their horror and summoned courage to help Robert. The python was eventually overpowered and killed.
Robert was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The wounds from the snake’s bite were so deep that his left arm was nearly severed. He's said to also be suffering from fatigue following the encounter. He's still recovering.

The snake’s massive body was then hung up for display at the village, before it was chopped up, fried and eaten.
